Afonso’nun Şarkılarıyla Tarihe Yolculuk
Konserde, devrimin sembolü haline gelmiş “Grândola, Vila Morena” başta olmak üzere, José Afonso’nun protest ruhunu yansıtan eserleri seslendirildi. Kemanda Anne Victorino d’Almeida, piyanoda João Vasco ve klarnette Luís Gomes’tan oluşan Rumos Ensemble, Afonso’nun eserlerini dönem fotoğrafları eşliğinde seslendirerek dinleyicilere Portekiz’in yakın tarihine müzikal bir yolculuk yaşattı.

Held at Samm’s Bistro in the Turkish capital, the evening featured a special performance by Rumos Ensemble, who reinterpreted iconic songs by legendary Portuguese folk musician José Afonso with modern jazz elements.
A Journey Through History with Afonso’s Songs
The concert centered on José Afonso’s iconic protest songs, including the revolutionary anthem Grândola, Vila Morena. Performed by Rumos Ensemble—Anne Victorino d’Almeida on violin, João Vasco on piano, and Luís Gomes on clarinet—the music was accompanied by archival images from the revolution, taking the audience on a moving journey through a pivotal chapter in Portuguese history.
Revolutionary Melodies with a Jazz Twist
Hosted by Portugal’s Ambassador to Ankara, Virgínia Pina, the concert welcomed ambassadors, diplomatic representatives, and music lovers. Rumos Ensemble’s fusion of jazz and traditional Portuguese folk music gave José Afonso’s compositions a contemporary and soulful resonance. Their performance received enthusiastic applause from the audience.
