Polonyalı Orkestra Şefi Maestro Lukasz Borowicz, Pianist Alexandra Swigut’un da yer aldığı CSO Orkestrasıyla konsere çıktı. Polonya’nın AB Dönem Başkanlığı’nı devralması sebebiyle Ankara CSO Ada’da düzenlenen konserde orkestrayı yöneten Ünlü Maestro sitemize özel röportaj verdi. Keyifli okumalar.

Bize çocukluğunuzdan bahseder misiniz, müzisyen olmaya nasıl karar verdiniz?

Müzik okulunda keman çalmaya başlamıştım; ilkokula müzik okuluyla başlayıp, ardından ortaokul müzik okuluna devam ettim. Daha sonra birçok genç ve öğrenci orkestrasında çaldığım için şeflik eğitimi almaya başladım. Ailemde profesyonel müzisyen yok. Annem biraz piyano çalar; ortaokula kadar piyano eğitimi aldı. Ancak evimde her zaman müziğe bir sevgi vardı, bu yüzden çocukken müzikle çevriliydim. Nihayetinde, müzik yapmaya karar verdim çünkü yaratmak gerçekten büyüleyici. Müzisyen olmaktan mutluyum çünkü bu benim tutkum. Bunun işim olduğunu söyleyemem; tutkum benim işim. Burada, Ankara’da CSO ile buluşmak ve Aleksandra Swigut ile çalmış olmaktan çok mutluyum. Aleksandra’nın benimle birlikteki ilk konserini çok iyi hatırlıyorum. Bu konser Krakow’daydı ve yeni bir mekanın açılışıydı. Krakow Üniversitesi, dünyadaki en eski ve en geleneksel üniversitelerden biridir ve yeni bir konferans salonu inşa etmişlerdi. Bizim konserimiz de bu yeni konferans salonunun açılış töreninin bir parçasıydı. 

Samuel Hasselhorn ve Poznań Filarmoni Orkestrası ile birlikte kaydettiğiniz, “Urlicht: Ölüm ve Diriliş Şarkıları” adlı son albümümüz üzerine bir soru sormak istiyorum. Bu albümün arkasındaki ana fikir nedir?

Kayıt yapmayı seven bir şefim. Son 20 yılda, çoğunlukla bir radyo orkestrası ile çalıştığım için 130’dan fazla albüm kaydettim. Kayıtlarımdan bazıları Polonya müziği dışında, opera, oratoryo ve bazı çağdaş eserleri de kapsamaktadır. Şarkıcılarla işbirliği yapmayı özellikle çok seviyorum. Bu proje özel bir anlam taşıyor, çünkü başrolü bariton Samuel Hasselhorn seslendiriyor; kendisi opera resitali ile performans sergiliyor. Olağanüstü bir sanatçı, 19. ve 20. yüzyıl bestecilerine odaklanan bir albüm kaydetme fikrini kendisi önerdi. Bu dönem, orkestra müziği açısından büyüleyici; bir yanda Gustav Mahler, diğer yanda Richard Strauss ve birçok farklı besteci var. Bu repertuvar, aynı zamanda müzik direktörü olduğum Poznań Filarmoni Orkestrası’nın odak noktalarından biri.
Uluslararası kayıt şirketi Harmonia Mundi’nin kataloğuna katıldığımız için çok mutluyuz. Bu albümü Poznań Filarmoni Orkestrası ile kaydettik ve Uluslararası Klasik Müzik Ödülleri’nin finaline seçildik. Bu tanıdık müziği daha az bilinen eserlerle bir araya getirmek gerçekten bir macera oldu. Bu, en son albümümüzdü. Performans orkestrası olarak faaliyetlerimizi konser sezonumuzla birleştirdik. Ayrıca, kayıt yaptığımız için çok mutluyuz çünkü kayıtlar, her orkestra için sadece halkın dikkatini çekmekle kalmaz, aynı zamanda performans seviyemizi yükseltmek için de gereklidir. Her müzisyen için mikrofon, en iyi öğretmen ve hakemdir.

Daha önce konser vermek için, Türkiye’ye geldiniz mi?

İstanbul Devlet Senfoni Orkestrası’nın birçok kez konuğu oldum. Yıllar önce harika konserler verdik. Bu sezon aynı orkestra ile İstanbul’a geri dönüyorum. Ayrıca daha önce Bilkent Senfoni Orkestrası’nı da yönettim. Ancak bu, CSO ile ilk buluşmam. Türkiye’den ve Türk müzisyenlerle yaptığım işbirliklerinden çok güzel anılarım var.

Can you tell us about your childhood and how you decided to become a musician?

I started playing the violin at music school. I began primary school with music school and then continued at a middle school music school. Later, as I played in many youth and student orchestras, I started receiving conducting training. There are no professional musicians in my family. My mother plays a bit of piano; she received piano training until middle school. However, there was always a love for music in our home, so I was surrounded by music as a child. Eventually, I decided to make music because creating it is truly fascinating. I’m happy to be a musician because it’s my passion. I can’t say it’s just my job; my passion *is* my job. I’m very happy to be here in Ankara with the CSO and to perform with Alexandra Swigut. I remember very well the first concert we played together. It was in Krakow, and it was the opening of a new venue. The Jagiellonian University in Krakow is one of the oldest and most traditional universities in the world, and they had built a new conference hall. Our concert was part of the opening ceremony for this new conference hall.

I would like to ask about your recent album titled Urlicht: Songs of Death and Resurrection, which you recorded with Samuel Hasselhorn and the Poznań Philharmonic Orchestra. What is the main idea behind this album?

I’m a conductor who enjoys making recordings. Over the past 20 years, I’ve recorded more than 130 albums, mostly with a radio orchestra. Some of these recordings include works beyond Polish music, such as opera, oratorio, and some contemporary pieces. I especially love collaborating with singers. This project holds a special meaning because the lead role is performed by baritone Samuel Hasselhorn, who is delivering an opera recital. He is an extraordinary artist, and the idea of recording an album focused on 19th and 20th-century composers came from him. This period is fascinating in terms of orchestral music; on one side we have Gustav Mahler, on the other Richard Strauss, and many other composers. This repertoire is also one of the focal points of the Poznań Philharmonic Orchestra, where I serve as the music director.

We are very happy to be part of the Harmonia Mundi international record label catalog. We recorded this album with the Poznań Philharmonic Orchestra, and it was selected for the final of the International Classical Music Awards. It was truly an adventure to combine this familiar music with lesser-known works. This was our latest album. As a performance orchestra, we integrated our activities with our concert season. We are also very happy to have made this recording because recordings not only attract the public’s attention but are also necessary to elevate our performance level. For every musician, the microphone is the best teacher and referee.

Have you ever come to Turkiye to give a concert before?

I’ve been a guest of the Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra many times. We gave great concerts years ago. This season, I am returning to Istanbul with the same orchestra. I’ve also conducted the Bilkent Symphony Orchestra before. However, this is my first encounter with the CSO. I have very beautiful memories from my collaborations with Turkish musicians and from working in Turkiye.

Polonya’nın AB Dönem Başkanlığı’nı devralması sebebiyle Ankara’da resepsiyon ve konser düzenlendi

Kültür ve Turizm Bakanlığı ve Polonya’nın Ankara Büyükelçiliği işbirliğinde, gerçekleştirilen resepsiyonda Polonya’nın Ankara Büyükelçisi Maciej Przemyslaw Lang ev sahipliği yaptı. Resepsiyona katılanlar arasında Dışişleri Bakanlığı Avrupa Birliği Başkanlığı Avrupa Birliği ile İlişkiler Genel Müdürü Elif Kurşunlu, AB Türkiye Delegasyonu Başkanı Büyükelçi Thomas Hans Ossowski, Belçika’nın Ankara Büyükelçisi Hendrik Van de Velde, Macaristan’ın Ankara Büyükelçisi Viktor Matis ve çok sayıda davetli katıldı. Resepsiyon sonrasında ise Polonyalı sanatçılar konser verdi.

Resepsiyonda konuşma yapan Büyükelçi Lang, “dönem başkanlığımız sırasında AB ile Türkiye arasındaki bağları daha da güçlendirebileceğimizi umuyoruz.” dedi.

Lang’in ardından kürsüye çıkan Elif Kurşunlu ise Türkiye-AB ilişkilerine verdiği destek için Polonya’ya teşekkür ederek sürecin Türkiye-AB ilişkileri açısından yapıcı olacağına inandığını belirtti.

Büyükelçi Ossowski de bir konuşma yaptı. Ossowski, AB’nin güçlü bir stratejik ortak olarak Türkiye’ye ihtiyacı olduğunu, “aday ülke olarak Türkiye’nin sunabileceği çok şey var” cümlesiyle ifade etti.

Konuşmaların ardından Polonyalı Orkestra Şefi Lukasz Borowicz ve Piyanist Alexandra Swigut konser verdi.

A reception and concert were organized in Ankara on the occasion of Poland taking over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The reception, held in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Polish Embassy in Ankara, was hosted by Poland’s Ambassador to Ankara, Maciej Przemyslaw Lang. Among the attendees were Elif Kurşunlu the Director General for EU Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Thomas Hans Ossowski Head of the EU Delegation to Turkiye, Hendrik Van de Velde the Belgian Ambassador to Ankara, Viktor Matis the Hungarian Ambassador to Ankara, and numerous other guests. Following the reception, Polish artists gave a concert.

In his speech at the reception, Ambassador Lang expressed hope that during Poland’s presidency, the ties between the EU and Turkiye would be further strengthened.

Following Lang, Elif Kurşunlu took the floor, thanking Poland for its support to Turkiye-EU relations and expressing her belief that the process would be constructive for Turkiye-EU relations.

Ambassador Ossowski also made a speech, stating that the EU needs Turkiye as a strong strategic partner, adding that “as a candidate country, Turkiye has much to offer.”

After the speeches, Polish Meastro Lukasz Borowicz and Pianist Alexandra Swigut performed a concert.
